I started my Trading journey in 2018 when I moved to Dubai after my wife was offered a job there by her company in the UK.
So we sold our house and moved to Dubai.
As I was over 60, I couldn't easily get a work visa, which was a bit of a shock, so I decided to take up trading to earn an income.
I setup a trading account with an Australian regulated broker in August and funded it with a large amount of money (i was a bit naïve) and in October I got 2 pieces of bad news, one was that my wife's company were closing the office and making everyone redundant and the second was that my broker had gone in administration...
My money was tied up now until the administrators wound everything up , I never thought it would take 5 years to get my money back, but it did, and although eventually I did get all my money back but, this experience was emotionally stressful and made me extremely cautious and has negatively affected my trading.
After this I only dabbled at trading as I didn't want to risk more money, so I traded with a very small account and it was really break even for a few years right up until 2024, after I got my money back, and I then started to plan my trading future with the goal of becoming consistantly profitable.
